Our idea for a present is a real surprise: a magnificent horse carriage tour. We gladly prepare a voucher according to your individual wishes!
It all began with the business idea of
In 1991, as a 16 year old lad with his one-horse sleigh, he was offering hotel guests the first sleigh rides.
The dream of an own horse-carriage company has now turned into reality. With 4 carriages, 5 wagons and 5 sleighs, the «Kutscherei Reichenbach» is a steadily growing family business.
Ernst Reichenbach is the court wainwright (carriage and sleigh builder, a traditional handcraft). Ernst and Ueli are building sleighs and wagons on their own. Besides the carriage tours and the carriage building, Freiberger horses, used later on for carriage drawing, are bred and trained at the farm.
Since 2003, Ueli’s wife Julia Reichenbach works for the company. The native-born German came to Switzerland in 1999 as a hotel manager. She is in charge of all reservations and of accounting. In 2008, their daughter Svenja, and in 2010, their son Björn was born.
On fully booked days, Ueli, Ernst, Gödi, Martin (2 cousins of Ueli), Mathias (coachman from Lauenen) or Hans-Ueli (coachman from the Emmental) are sitting on the coachman’s box. In times of need, Julia and Ueli’s sister Edith are also sitting on the box.
We look forward to welcoming you!
